Can A Stop Smoking Injection Help Me Kick The Habit For Good?

I’m trying to live a healthier lifestyle but smoking seems to be a very hard habit to quit. I’ve tried practically all methods available and have even gone cold turkey, but it only seemed to make it worse. Is there some sort of stop smoking injection that could help me kick the habit? Would a stop smoking injection be advisable?

There is actually a stop smoking injection of sorts. It is not a proven remedy, however. It’s been known to work for some and not for others. The best way to find out is to consult with a health professional and find out if a stop smoking injection is the perfect treatment for you.

Most commonly known as the Smart Shot, the stop smoking injection was developed a many years ago and has since been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In a way, it was discovered by accident. The stop smoking injection was actually invented for other purposes. It was only recognized as a stop smoking injection after users reported that it curbed their desire to smoke.

The stop smoking injection is made from Scopolamine and Atarax, two very common drugs with different purposes. Scopolamine is the main ingredient in drugs and patches used for seasickness, while Atarax is an anti-histamine. When combined, these two drugs create a unique formula that has been found to block the nicotine receptors in the brain. As a result, withdrawal symptoms are reduced which subsequently leads to a healthier lifestyle for some. The stop smoking injection has been observed to be most effective when used alongside counseling and within a support group.

In recent years, major pharmaceutical companies have been racing to fill the huge gap in the market for smoking cessation drugs by researching and developing a score of anti-smoking drugs, and yes, stop smoking injections. Nabi Pharmaceuticals is currently developing NicVax, a stop smoking injection that works by binding with nicotine and disabling its molecules in the body. A similar stop smoking injection by the name of Ta-Nic is also being developed by the Xenova Group in England.

There are also several stop smoking pills undergoing development by major pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Pfizer have designed a drug called Varenicline, to be marketed as Chantrix, and are expecting FDA approval within the year. It acts by binding the nicotine receptors in the brain to block craving. French pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Synthelabo has developed a drug that not only aids in smoking cessation, but also helps in weight loss. The drug is called Rimonabant, trade name Acomplia, and is also expecting FDA approval within the year. It is part of a new class of drugs that are said to hit two birds with one stone.

Indeed, stop smoking injections and pills provide a great help to those who are trying to quit smoking for good. One cannot be successful, however, unless determined to do so. After all, stop smoking injections and pills are mainly there to support, and not do the job for you. It takes courage, sacrifice, and will power to kick the habit, and though it may be a difficult ride, the rewards are infinitely worth it.
